Whitelist The Architects Deployment Address to Upload Contracts

Summary

This proposal seeks to grant The Architects deployment address osmo1ny43tlr432nxg2vkfqzsdlledqjdn8ffw4p8dfefm75fat26st5s6x957f permission to upload contracts to Osmosis without requiring governance approval for each contract upload. The Architects project is leveraging DAO DAO as its admin and is committed to bringing long-term innovation, ecosystem growth, and marketing exposure to Osmosis.

Our project is not just an NFT collection—it is an interactive ecosystem powered by our token $CULT, which fuels The Rites, a gamified DApp where holders can upgrade their NFT through an immersive ritual process. Unlike traditional NFT projects, Architects NFT has built-in utility, positioning it as a true builder-focused project that enhances the Osmosis ecosystem.

Benefits to Osmosis

Architects NFT is committed to bringing visibility and growth to the Osmosis ecosystem through the following initiatives:

• Osmosis-Themed Badges: Integrated within The Rites DApp, giving Osmosis a dedicated presence on our interactive platform.

• Osmosis & Bitmosis-Themed Traits: Our NFT collection will include special traits inspired by Osmosis and Bitcoin (Bitmosis), bringing crossover visibility to the ecosystem.

• Marketing & Exposure: Our established community and partnerships will drive significant awareness for Osmosis through branded content, collaborations, and storytelling.

• Stargaze NFT Bridging: Users will be able to bridge their Architects NFT to Stargaze for trading, with marketing support from Stargaze, further integrating interchain NFT utility.

About The Architects NFT

The Architects is a builder-focused, lore-driven NFT project that has been in development for over a year by a dedicated team of experienced builders. Our theme revolves around builders and secret societies.

We have grown our following from the ground up through consistent storytelling, innovation, and development. Our project goes beyond static NFTs, offering a fully interactive ecosystem with real utility. With The Rites DApp, a strong narrative, and our commitment to pushing the boundaries of NFT utility, we aim to establish The Architects as a lasting and valuable addition to the Osmosis ecosystem.

This proposal ensures that we can continue building, deploying, and innovating within Osmosis, bringing new users, engagement, and value to the chain.

Really supportive of the Architects’ team ! Talk to all of them and they are very innovative and passionate people, I trust them to deliver a nice app and NFT collection that the Osmosis community can rally on !

I think the collab around Bitmosis is a great addition bringing synergy for both projects.

It feels like MadScientists, which we also approved for uploading. Bringing new fun to the chain is always a good thing, especially if this is done in a multichain way were different strengths of different chains are utilized.

Will this also mean that $CULT will be launced on Osmosis as well? Either via cook.fun or something like StreamSwap?

Can you share a bit more on the partnerships as mentioned in your post?

Is the Rites dApp already live? Or is that planned for the (near) future?

Been poking around the Architects Discord. I also get similar vibes to Mad Scientists in that folks are really engaging here!
The gamification that will let you upgrade an NFT really builds on making each NFT feel important to an onchain identity. Looking forward to seeing what Architects can do

Hey hey! dev for Architects here-

Yep, $CULT will be streamswapped on Osmosis. A tokenomics overview can be seen here.

The rites app is created and live demos have been given out- however it’s not been made public yet. I expect that we will make it public and allow the first badge to be claimed very shortly once our suite of contracts are deployed to Osmosis.

Sounds good

I hear positive sounds from my validatorpartner. Let’s go I would say!

I am wondering, why are we requiring every contract to be whitelisted? What are the arguments against opening it for everyone?

And what would be the arguments to oppose a whitelist? Has that ever happened?

I can’t recall voting against tbh.

The main advantage of having to go through governance is that scammers won’t be able to do it, without putting at least some effort in to get it on the forum and then through governance. That is quite the hurdle before the actual scam can take place.

Originally, the purpose was because Osmosis is an appchain dedicated to DeFi use cases. Not everything is suitable for deployment on Osmosis because of this and causes bloat. This has changed somewhat since we now have a range of deployers with governance showing to be less selective than it used to be.

The main reason for keeping permissioned CosmWasm is that CosmWasm still has regular security issues from which Osmosis has been protected mainly by being a permissioned chain. This is because upload permissions can be revoked if a whitelisted address abuses the chain and we have a sense of who any exploiter has been from their whitelisting proposal. Neutron has had a couple of emergency upgrades because of patches and permissionless cosmwasm was also a direct cause of a loss of funds on Terra from a bug with IBC hooks.

It’s a small hurdle which most legitimate developers will easily pass with a simple forum post/proposal.
